Origin and History of Yoga
The origin of yoga is traced back to the Vedas, with references also found in the Upanishads. Originating in ancient India, yoga traditionally means the union of the mind, body, and spirit. It involves practicing physical postures, known as asana in Sanskrit. The ultimate aim of yoga is to create a balance between the body and mind, leading to self-enlightenment. To achieve this goal, yoga uses various body postures, breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and meditation. Yoga promotes a healthy and lively lifestyle, emphasizing a balanced approach to life.
