Sonam, a bright and soft-spoken girl, has spent most of her life at Rajkiya Balika Balgruha, Para, Lucknow, her home for the past 9 years. Orphaned at a young age and with no known relatives, her journey has been one of quiet strength.
She first lived at a Shishu Gruha in Kanpur at the age of 3, then later moved to Lucknow. When that institution shut down, she was placed in Balika, Lucknow, where she has grown up ever since.
Sonam studied at Motinagar Balika Inter College and, with the right support and guidance, she scored an impressive 72% in her Class 10 board exams.
Since 2014, PEHL has been actively involved in the education and mentorship of girls at this home. Sonam is one of the many students who received academic support through our teachers and her success reflects both her hard work and the dedication of our team.
But what truly lights up Sonam’s world is art and craft. Creative and imaginative, she dreams of building a future in the world of art and we believe she will.
Her story is a beautiful reminder: with care, education, and encouragement, even the most difficult beginnings can lead to bright, meaningful futures.
At PEHL, we’re proud to nurture dreams like Sonam’s, one child at a time.
