Project Kushaagra

Helping Children with Special needs

Imagine a world where every child regardless of ability has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive. Yet, nearly 10–15% of children worldwide face challenges like developmental delays, cerebral palsy, speech and language disorders, autism, and sensory impairments. These barriers can limit their potential but with the right awareness, diagnosis, and support, that can change.

Project Kushaagra is PEHL’s initiative dedicated to creating an inclusive world for children with developmental disabilities. Through awareness, early identification, and timely intervention, we work towards giving every child not just a label, but a real chance to grow, learn, and thrive.

Awareness Programs & Activities

Awareness is the first step toward inclusion.

We actively engage with teachers, parents, communities, and professionals to foster early recognition of childhood disabilities. Through workshops, mentorship sessions, and school collaborations, our goal is to equip those closest to the child with the right knowledge.

Some of our recent initiatives include:

  • Autism Awareness Day – Interactive sessions for parents, therapists, and children, including a poster-drawing activity.
  • Teachers’ Training Workshops – Conducted for 90 government school teachers in Soraon Block, Prayagraj, focused on child development, school readiness, autism screening, and dyslexia.
  • Teacher Mentorship Program – A year-round initiative reaching over 200 teachers and 3000+ students, covering topics like ADHD, dyslexia, red flag signs, and classroom strategies. Sessions have been conducted across multiple schools in Lucknow, including St. Mary’s, Meridian Public School, SSLB School, and CB Memorial Public School.

Our vision is to mentor 25 schools in the current academic year and build a stronger, more informed teaching community.

Screening & Diagnosis

Early identification makes early support possible.

Project Kushaagra facilitates developmental screening and diagnostic support to help children receive the attention they need – early and accurately.

From conducting assessments at Shishu Grah, Lucknow to leading school-based observation and screening programs, we aim to bridge the gap between concern and confirmation. These efforts are guided by experienced professionals who ensure that no child falls through the cracks.

Early Intervention Centers

Because the right support at the right time changes everything.

Under the expert guidance of a Developmental Paediatrician and a dedicated team of rehabilitation specialists, we run Early Intervention Centers in Mumbai and Lucknow.

These centers provide:

  • Comprehensive diagnosis
  • Individualised intervention plans
  • Parental training for home-based care

We believe that “a mother is the best therapist for her child.” That’s why our parental workshops focus on empowering families with the tools and confidence to support their child’s growth at home.
