PEHL organized an Eye Check-Up Camp in collaboration with Dr. Wavikar Eye Foundation at Ambherpada, Belachiwadi, Kathewadi, and Chafewadi in Karjat Taluka.
Our team examined 166 patients and identified 32 patients eligible for cataract surgery. According to the evaluation by the eye bank team, 101 patients required spectacles. We conducted follow-ups and provided spectacles to all 101 community members in need.
- Kathewadi
PEHL organised an Eye Check-Up Camp in collaboration with Dr. Wavikar Eye Foundation at Kathewadi in Karjat Taluka on 17th October 2021. A total of 48 patients from Kathewadi village were examined, and 8 patients were found eligible for cataract surgery.
- Ambherpada & Belachiwadi
PEHL organised an Eye Check-Up Camp in collaboration with Dr. Wavikar Eye Foundation at Ambherpada for the Ambarpada and Belachiwadi community members in Karjat Taluka on 28th November 2021. A total of 75 community members participated—56 from Ambherpada and 19 from Belachiwadi. Our team examined all 75 patients and identified 16 patients eligible for cataract surgery, including (11 from Ambherpada and 5 from Belachiwadi)
Spectacles Distribution:
Spectacles were distributed to a total of 53 community members — 32 from Ambherpada and 21 from Belachiwadi.
3. Chafewadi
PEHL, in collaboration with Dr. Wavikar Eye Foundation, organized an Eye Check-Up Camp at Chafewadi in Karjat Taluka on 12th December, 2021.
Our team checked 42 patients and found that 8 patients were eligible for cataract operation.
As per the evaluation done by the eye bank team, 38 patients were found to require spectacles. We followed up accordingly and provided spectacles to all 38 community members within a week.
Spectacles Distribution: Spectacles were distributed to 20 community members from Chafewadi.
